Abstract

The problem of ultra-pure hydrogen production is
urgent in connection with the increase of its consumption in a number of industries. There are two
key applications of ultra-pure hydrogen, namely,
the reducing agent and energy carrier. In the present work a brief comparison of different hydrogen
production procedures is performed. The alloys
V53Ti26Ni21 and Ta77Nb23 (wt.%) are studied by the
procedures of measurement specific hydrogen permeability and metallography. It was shown that the
Ta77Nb23 alloy manifests parameters of hydrogen
permeability and is suitable for practical application as membrane material.
