Abstract

Open pit water drainage exploitation in the Lomonosov diamond deposit started in 2003, enclosing
rock mass advanced dewatering was begun in 2005
by the system of water sinking holes. Intensive drainage during several dozens of years will cause powerful cone of influence formation within the limits of
which ground waters depth position will be considerably changed. This will also lead to essential water-bearing width desalination in the site of the deposit as well as to hydro-chemical conditions modification in adjacent areas.
