The article is a brief overview of ongoing researches
in the laboratory of rocks destruction, the Institute
of mining, Ural branch, Russian academy of sciences. It presents the approaches to experimental
determination the relationship between density, velocity of detonation and charge diameter for emulsion explosives, as well as to clarification the local
strength characteristics of rocks in situ according to
measured characteristics of the process of holes
rolling cutter drilling production. It is demonstrated
that accounting the parameters of the drilling process allows to simulate the change of rocks strength
characteristics in excavation blocks and to clarify
the parameters of borehole charges. As a result of
studies the emulsion explosives detonation characteristics the possibility to predict the detonation velocity on measured density during loading the explosive cavity of known diameter, which together
can significantly improve the efficiency of drilling
and blasting. Also, the possibilities of the laboratory
for wave processes studying and determination
drilling and blasting parameters for the ultimate pit
outline are presented.
