EXPERIENCE OF PEOPLE PROTECTION CARRYING OUT ENGINEERING SURVEY ON PIT BENCHES

Abstract

General information on service conditions of
the"Iron" pit by JSC Kovdorsky GOK is given; the
influence of climatic and hydro-geological factors
on pit benches stability are analyzed; the information on bench deformation shown in a remote site
of a pit near a transport berm is cited. The practice
of people protection from rock fall by mesh support
arrangement for carrying out engineering survey on
studying the bench deformation zone is described.
The results of geo-radar inspection of a bench deformation zone are shown.
