Abstract

The role of structural rock mass features in the development of geo-mechanical processes and phenomena that
determine the safety and efficiency of the development and
mineral deposits exploitation is considered. Researches in
the Kacharsky pit revealed the relationship of pit’s edges
stability with structural factors, that are identified in the
works of A. Mashanov as “the subsoil harmony”. The
mechanism of pit’s edges stability risk zones is associated
with secondary structuring hierarchically block rock mass
under the influence of modern geo-dynamic movements.
On the borders of secondary structures the concentration
of stresses and deformations, creating conditions for the
development of emergency failures arises.
