Abstract

The ever-increasing demands for environmental protection emphasize the need to improve the quality of wastewater treatment processes and guide manufacturers to search efficient methods of mine and industrial waters treatment. Deposits active development leads to the formation of slag and slime stocks, septic tanks and water treatment facilities construction. The problem of dumps recultivation is actual today. Depending on the geographical and geological conditions of ores occurrence, method of mining and dumps formation the method of dump recultivation is to be choosen. One method of remediation is based on the extraction of useful elements from waste heaps with the help of various chemical reactions and additional cleaning mine and under-dump waters. The greatest number of highly concentrated sulfuric acid waste waters of different composition is formed in the mining process of non-ferrous metallurgy, that is associated with large scales of mining operations and volumes of pumped water from the mine workings to prevent flooding as well as with complexity and diversity of the material composition of ores, the process of leaching components of ores during mining, the influence of seasonal and
weather events. In addition, highly concentrated sulfuric water for mining and processing plants and low-concentrated wastewater can be formed. The determining factors in waste water formation with low concentration of pollutants are: the conditions of oxidation; chemical resistance; contact time solutions of ores; dilution of solutions with water; conditions of collection, storage, processing, and wastewater treatment. As a whole for cleaning all types of mining and industrial sulphate waters the technological operations should be used with low sensitivity to fluctuations in the source composition and volume
of waters, as well as the content of suspended solids in them.
