Abstract

It is established that one of the most effective ways
to regulate the mode of mining operations in deep
long-range quarries is the use of combined temporarily non-working boards is the one, developed by
the Institute of Mining of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, these boards are characterized by effective methods of their formation and
conservation, including favorable conditions for
opening and safety of mining operations under rockfall conditions. A method for calculating the appropriate parameters of boards – their height and width
of separate benches – has been carried out. The
main factors that determine the economic efficiency
of field development with the use of temporarily nonworking boards of the developed design are the
depth of the quarry, the number of benches, and the
rate of lowering of mining operations during its deconservation. The economic effect of reducing the
discounted costs of field development as a result of
applying this method of regulating the mode of mining operations at a significant depth of quarries can
reach 3.5 – 4 %.
