Because of the deformation of the side, an accident
occurred during the construction of the retaining
walls of the crushing complex aboard one of the
largest quarries in the world. The deformation area
along the visible cracks was up to five hectares. To
detect the boundaries of deformations outspread,
the method of coherent detection of changes in the
side surface caused by the accidents was used.
Based on a comparison of the archival space survey data with the data of mine surveying and a priori information, we established that the changes in
the side have expanded over 14 hectares, covering
a huge zone located above the landslide.
