In the article existing methods and tools of ore draw simulation for develope systems with ore caving have been considered. The results of the analysis have shown, that the current approaches to the simulation, as the rule, are based on calculations of geometric parameters of the shape of the draw envelope (ellipsoids) and use stochastic models. It allows to predict the results of the ore draw and to form the diagrams. The article outlines the deficiencies of existing approaches, discusses the prospects for their development; and the possibility of applying software products using the discrete element method for modeling has been analyzed. As a result, the tasks on creating a tool that can model the physical nature of the ore draw has been formulated
