The theoretical bases have been provided for geotechnological strategy for development of transition zones under a consistent scheme of combined development of ore deposits, these bases consisting in the systematization and formation of options for underground geotechnology in accordance with established principles, the development of methodological approaches and appropriate methods for determining the parameters and indicators of underground geotechnology, taking into account the specific factors and conditions formed at the stage of open mining operations and the requirements for the creation of optimal conditions for the exploitation of major reserves by the underground method, the economic-mathematical modeling of the optimal variant for geotechnological strategy according to the proposed criteria of minimum reduction of profitability of mining enterprise in the transition period and the maximum of net discounted income from the development of all reserves designated for underground mining.
