Abstract

The enterprises of the mining and metallurgical complex are the main source of environmental pollution in the Sverdlovsk region. Heavy metals contained in industrial emissions enter the atmospheric air and subsequently accumulate in the soil. As a result, geochemical anomalies with accumulated pollution are formed. The analysis of the results of ecological monitoring of soils in the zone of operation of Copper Smelters of Sverdlovsk region in Krasnouralsk and Pervouralsk for obtaining the quantitative characteristics of technogenic load in the reviewed territory. The author has assessed the chemical soil pollution and made the conclusions about the degree of pollution hazard based on the indicator of total soil contamination with heavy metals.
