Abstract

The paper presents an overview of problems of production and consumption waste as well as issues related to their further treatment. It study the problems of industrial waste conversion, reveals the difference between the concepts of "waste conversion" and "waste management", which lies in the approaches to the prevention of waste generation and activities for processing, neutralization, recycling, as well as their minimization. The paper proposes additional methods of stimulating waste treatment and management by the state. The paper identifies the main tasks of economics and management, focused on the activity of waste conversion.
The interrelation of the presented materials reflects in the relevance of the integrated use of mineral resources obtained at the deposits of peat raw materials. As a result of the development of peat deposits, production and consumption wastes are also generated, some of which can be used directly at the extraction sites. In addition, the areas of many peat deposits are depleted fully or partially, some of them have been reclaimed for agricultural, forestry and water management. However, significant parts of the depleted deposits remain to degrade. Of particular importance is the development of nature-renewing technologies, extraction and processing of peat in difficult climatic and hydrological conditions.
The paper formulates the tasks of research, which are necessary to substantiate a renewable technology based on a systematic approach to watering of depleted and decommissioned areas of peat deposits, and scientific substantiation of fundamentally new requirements and criteria for the development and selection of technology for the extraction and processing of peat in difficult climatic and hydrological conditions.
