Abstract

The results of the researches and calculations carried out by the Institute of Mining of the Ural
Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences in the
Gaisky IW underground mine are presented. The
observed phenomena of expansion and contraction
of the Earth that are happening in sync with easily
tracked changes of the Sun’s size require further
methodological examination and correlation dependences refinement. The calculations of stresses
in the shafts’ support that depend not only on the
physical and mechanical properties of rock mass,
but also on the time of shaft sinking and stops in
the support construction for the time the concrete
has gained its full strength are given. There is a
risk compromising the integrity of the fixing trunks.
